What we do

As Christians we believe the full purpose of our lives is to praise God. As we do so we begin to recognize more and more that everything comes from God and to feel even more thankful and full of praise. Worship helps to recognize who God really is, it opens our hearts to what is good. It catches us up into the life of heaven. It is something we are called to every day of our lives and is fulfilled, among other ways, when we say the Lord's Prayer. So we gather as a community in Church to offer this praise to God, primarily on a Sunday but also throughout the week.

The journey of faith is upheld by prayer, so we are often praying for those along life's journey. We welcome people into the family of the Church at Baptism. We celebrate and solemnise the love people find for each other and offer God's blessing when they commit to spending the rest of their lives living in the love they share for each other and for God. At the end of the journey of life, we are there offering our prayers and our support helping people to have a good death and then commend their soul back to God.

As Christians, we believe we have been entrusted with the Good News of Jesus to share with everyone. As such, you will often find us living out Jesus' teachings of love, mercy and freedom for everyone. We are called to stand up for the poor, the oppressed, the marginalised and all who feel forgotten. So we are often working for social justice causes, campaigning for a fairer and more just society, and offering the same love that Jesus offered us to all who look or need it.

This is just a small list of what Christians could be doing to live out their faith every day. If you want to know more about what we do, then the best thing to do is to come along and join us.
